for those that do pt in a faster state, do you also take the test fasted?

I would never do that. There's too much that requires good stores of readily available energy. You would end up under performing on the Deadlift and sprint drag carry for sure. There's no external load on the APFT so it's not really comparable in energy expense

I don't know why you would. There are plenty of times during the test where one would benefit from having quick access to energy sources. In my opinion, eat something that is easy to metabolize before the test
