"Send Off" for Marine service member deploying overseas (Allentown, PA): Have you had similar experiences?

Had the honor and pleasure of being a part of a gathering of civilians and military members to properly "send off" a Marine. He had NO idea were were assembling and coming to his family picnic. Bikers by the dozens converged at the park where we honored him, gave him a coin, a certificate, and an embroidered star.
