Calm down. CAP cycle is every Tuesday. If not Tuesday, the following Tuesday. Also, choice of duty station assignments can not be less that 180 days from the day you are put on orders. You got plenty of time

1 to 2 Weeks following. You are nowhere close to the priority right now and there is nothing you can do this far out. Hell, you don’t even have a report date yet SGT (Join to see)

Of 2022. You can’t be given a report date of earlier then 6 months from the day you sign the contract. And report dates are the 10th of each month. SGT (Join to see)

CPL Roy Rakestraw that happened to be my first duty assignment as a 2LT Field Artillery Officer. I was there the year the Berlin Wall came down. Both my Dad and his younger brother went there in WWII and the very early 1950s You’re gonna be in a great post to travel and see a lot of Europe. You’re only about 45 minutes or so from the Luxembourg and France. Lots of neat history and culture! Be sure to get out and see what you can on your time off. It’s never too late to start learning some German and French to side in your travels. Best of luck at you next duty station.!

If you’re going to France and try to speak to them in French, you’d better be fluent. I was not received well (vast understatement) the times I went there and tried to use my high school French. Both times I got back in my car and headed elsewhere (Luxembourg and Belgium).

You don't get an assignment letter. HRC hadn't sent out assignment letters for almost two decades now. The last time I got an assignment letter it was 2000.

You will get a notification email from EPMD sometime notifying you that you're on assignment. That's not what allows you to start the orders process. You will get a notification for a levy brief, either online or in person. You'll turn in you 5118 and that starts your part of the process

SGT (Join to see) you can't start the EFMP screening for OCONUS assignments until 6 months prior to your report date. The reason is that if you were to screen your family a year out, the medical information will be very out of date by the time you arrive
