As a retired 74B40, I can promise you that every little bit will help you advance in the IT field and beyond. For example, Cabling and wiring was more in the telecom domain, but thanks to the opportunity to install cabling, I can still do RJ-45, 568A-B cabling in my sleep. You'd be surprised how many IT 'professionals' have trouble with this menial, but highly-essential task. HTH!
