I plan to volunteer to be an army recruiter, I want to be stationed in the LA, Ca Area.
How long does it take to go to recruiter school after all paper work is submitted?
Also, what are some good and bad things experienced recruiters went through and what advice would you give to me?

I used to be like you. Told myself I was going to recruit out of Southern California and go home. Now knowing what I know about recruiter and especially that location to draw in recruits you couldn’t give me a bonus to do it.

Apply to be a recruiter IF:
1) You want all the good stuff you did in your career to no longer matter IF you don't make mission.
2) You want to spend HOURS upon Hours cold calling people just because they are in your area even if they have told you previously to go pound sand.
3) Did I say that if you don't meet mission, that every evening and weekend is remedial training? Oh well it is. You ran a dozen up the MEPS Flow but not enough passed the ASVAB or showed up able to pass a drug test so they could ship so YOU failed your mission.
4) Do you LIKE cold calling on the phone? You are the Army's telemarketer.
Run, don't walk to AVOID recruiting.

I worked for Acura as a car salesman for 3 years and I was very successful at it. Maybe that would help ??? That experience

SPC (Join to see) - Well, it can't hurt. When I went to Recruiter school "Professional Selling Skills III" a civilian sales course was part of it. It was all Need Satisfaction Selling. I don't like being sold to so I guess that is my hang up.
