It's an official Army uniform, so yes. Especially if you recognize the other person in APFUs as an Officer.

MAJ Byron Oyler - Exactly. While in a reclass AIT, we MOS-Ts had to PT wearing the same color PT Belts as the IET kids. One dark morning, a few of us NCOs who were walkers were doing PT and got passed by a IET formation. One of the Drill Sergeants said something to one of the SGTs in our group, who responded with "I'm not in your company." Looking like an IET Soldier, he got shark-attacked by three Senior NCOs. The rest of us had to defuse the situation using our ID Cards, and explanations of who we were and who our organization was. After that, we would swap out our issued PT Belts with green ones after the formation broke.

SGT Dave Tracy that's how it was during my time in 1st AD. Yellow for junior enlisted, green for NCOs, and blue for officers.

1LT (Join to see) - I was once saluted by a KATUSA Private while using the urinal. KBSC on Youngsan during Key Resolve. Kid stood there holding a salute until I finished my business and had a free hand to return it.

Maybe he is putting the question out there because other people need to hear the answer and a culture needs to change somewhere.

I thought the same thing when I saw the post. I’m hoping that he is asking on behalf of someone else, if not I don’t know how in the world you manage to become a senior NCO and never once got corrected and or taught to render a resolute which would be part of maintaining your military bearing while in your PT uniform LOL.

I saw a situation where a CPT in BDUs called out a Soldier in PTs for not salutng him. Turned out that the PT uniform was a MAJ.
However, if you know that someone is an officer, regardless of what uniform either is wearing, and you are not an officer, then yes, you should salute

I was at the MP station after PT one morning as a 1LT and a SGM comes in. PVT Snuffy at the desk yells out "at ease". I'm thinking WTF because PVT Snuffy knows I'm an officer. So I just keep going about my business and SGM loses his shit. Starts yelling at me, disrespect blah blah blah. I let him go on for about 45 seconds before I interrupted him with, I'm sorry SGM, but the last time I checked officers don't stand at ease for NCOs. the look on his face was priceless as he stammered out an apology. The look on PVT Snuffy's face was even better when SGM tore him a new one. That was 15 years ago and PVT Snuffy is probably still getting smoked.
