I was born and raised in Fern Creek, KY and was an intern at Churchill Downs in 1986-87.
It is the first Saturday in May and it means DERBY Time!
My Army Reserve duty is keeping me from going but it is time to PICK A HORSE!
And GIVE ME A REASON, Any reason you picked the horse you did.
It could be name, riding colors, jockey, where the horse or owner is from, it reminds you of an ex, WHATEVER, the more entertaining the BETTER!
You know I am just HORSING AROUND! (No my jokes don't get better, just ask my kids...)

While in Seminary I got to work for Brantley Crowd Management at three Kentucky Derbies 94-96. In 95 and 96 I won the Exacta Box on the Derby ! Thunder Gulch and Go For Gin were my great picks! I miss being there. Long tiring day but what alot of fun !!

LTC John Shaw, I've never been to the Derby but I've been to the Kentucky Oaks and to Keeneland many, many times! So, with all this horse racing experience, I'm picking Dortmund! Why? The red, white and blue colors (patriotic design) of course!
