Do volunteer for Airborne school while I'm in OSUT, and then volunteer for RASP once I'm in Airborne school, or do I volunteer for RASP while I'm in OSUT, and complete Airborne school after RASP?

Its better to have airborne first because if you drop from rasp without it you won't be sent to airborne after

Thank you for the reply PV2. I wasn't able to get airborne or an op40 on my contract due to having a waiver. Will I be able to volunteer for airborne school at OSUT?

PFC (Join to see) at my osut they had a pushup and run competition for like 3 airborne spots per platoon so you'll probably have to earn it

Op40 will give you airborne and RASP. If you can’t get an op40 try to get an airborne contract because you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer for RASP at airborne school.

Thank you for the response SGT. I was told that I cannot get an airborne contract or an op40 due to having a medical waiver. MEPS told me that anyone with any kind of waiver is unable to get an airborne or op40 contract, but that once I was in the Army, I would be able to volunteer for either at almost any time. Is that true?

I’m honestly not sure, but when you’re in OSUT the regimental recruiter will come around looking for volunteers. I would bring it up when you see him
