Designed for those in exclusively male units: do you think bringing females into your ranks would require changes to daily habits and culture? If yes, what changes and how easy would they be to implement? Do you think implementation would be successful? How long do you think it would take? What do you think would happen to SHARP related "numbers"? What would happen to military's reputation and what impact would it have on recruiting?

Question 1: yes
Question 2: I have no friggin clue. I have been in mixed units, the mind sets are different. It might be okay if we don't allow reclasses and just take straight from Benning so you don't have the non-combat arms mentality set in. I think majority of the joes (me included) would have the females adjust to our culture not the other way around
Question 3: like everything in the Army, mixed bag. Somethings will work, some won't.
Question 4: that will probably be determined by higher. "you WILL be ready to have Pvt Jane in your unit NLT XXXXXX"
Question 5: Harassment? Depends on how butt hurt females would get about jokes. On the rape? I would say down, because Pvt Jane has a squad of guys watching her back.
Question 6: Are we doing the right thing? If the answer is yes to hell with our reputation. Recruiting? Outside of my lane.

Although you asked a lot of questions, the issue is more complicated than that. The bottom line? It is not only a bad idea, but an unnecessary one. Will it work? We can make anything work with the proper manipulation. It will never work the way it needs to, or the way it should. It isnt a matter of how possible so much as how beneficial. Then the question becomes, why?

How about kiss but do not tell. How long did it take to let gays in the military? Or let blacks command?

Women in light Infantry units will always be a problem. See your humans before your soldiers. I retired 25 years ago glad I did. The pussfication of Our military is a mark of weakness and giving in to PC. Say what you wish make all the excuses you wish. Men and women are not created the same gods design.
