I'm our units training room NCO and was wondering what other training rooms are doing with personnel that have current a current APFT due to the Covid-19 restrictions but are out of tolerance due to DTMS. any advice is appreciated.

Nothing is being done. FTMS is just a system, it works for us, we don’t work for it. Everyone with a passing APFT no longer needs to take one. I have seen some units re-aging APFTs which means giving them a new passing APFT, but that’s unnecessary and not legit. There is no negative repercussion to the Soldier for not having an up to date APFT, and they will not lose their promotable status

Roger that SFC, thank you for the timely response. From what I have heard someone was trying to give a soldier a hard time going to the board with a year old APFT.

I’ve definitely heard units doing that and it seemed wrong, basically pencil whipping an entire units PT tests but whatever it takes to stay green right?

WO1 (Join to see) yes, it defeats the purpose of DTMS which is to track training. But with the current policy Soldiers with a passing APFT are green now

What other training rooms SHOULD be doing is paying attention to what has been passed down from on high which is if a Soldier has a passing APFT then until at least 2022 they do not have to take an APFT. If they have a failing APFT then they have to take one to remove the flag. This applies to all schools and units.

This is a tough one I know some units being pressured to “re-age” them as SFC Boyd mentioned in order to remain green. Which doesn’t seem like the most legit answer, I think the right answer to this is probably just let them be, I imagine the system will be updated to reflect the changes. That’s just my point of view on it like I said, but at the end of the day whatever your unit CoC decides and has you do just ride with that.
