Hello, Im from Puerto Rico. 2001 I had an operation for Scoliosis. I went to a recruiter and he told me that for having prostheses the army disqualified me but that I could try it for AMedd. Someone who has joined or is part of AMedd who can guide me?

Your recruiter was not knowledgeable and most recruiters are not familiar with officer recruiting. You’ll need to talk to an AMEDD recruiter, they work at the Medical Recruiting Brigades.

Another choice would be the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. They are a branch of the uniform services as well.

SFC (Join to see) is 100% correct! AMEDD is its own animal therefore you need to talk with them. ¡Mucha Suerte!

Hello Aura. AMEDD is a branch of the Army. You would need a medical waiver to refer you out at MEPs to an orthopedic surgeon stating you are fully capable of active duty with said procedure. I would contact an AMEDD recruiting station and a recruiter for health professions would be able to give you further guidance from there.
