Are there any exceptions to the Retention Control Point policy? If so, where can they be found?

I have been in for 14 years and am trying to earn enough points for promotion. I have at least 100 more points than my fellow promotable peers, but 798 seems to be the magic number for most of the 91 series MOS. Are there exceptions to the RCP policy or am I packing my bags and needing to the house if I hit 15 years without getting promoted?

Have you tried discussing your options with a career counselor? They're in a better position to help you than anyone here..

Roger, I talked to them and they told me that they hope I make points... I then went and talked to the Reserve/Guard liason and they said I can continue to serve in a reserve/guard status even if I get RCP'd from active duty which means waiting until I'm 62 for retirement, etc... I really don't have anyone to blame but myself. I should have taken the time to ensure that I was squared away.
