Prior service guard reenlistment, can I select a duty station based upon open slots?

Good afternoon, all.
I'm coming up on the end of my guard contract in the next two years. I have to decide if I'm going to try the ADOS route and stay here until I can pick a better location or go active. I've talked with a recruiter on the active side, but we all know how recruiters can be, and he told me that I can select a duty station based on open slots for my MOS and grade. Does anyone know if this is true or just a recruiter line?

It’s true, but even if it wasn’t you would just find out at MEPS. Even if you couldn’t you could reenlist for a different duty station later

I would say go to Benning or Bragg.
Yep, Bragg or Benning. Either one. Best duty stations in CONUS.

How can recruiters be? Your talking about NCO’s assigned to recruiting duty. Also recruiters have the most up to date guidance and business rules which dictate what PS options are. Looking on here or online is not going to give you any better information unless it comes from another “recruiter”.

Recruiters CAN be like used car salesman. Not all, but definitely enough that this reputation persists amongst SMs.

SSG, don't play dumb here. We all know the games recruiters play. When I was looking to reenlist after my first contract was up, the recruiter tried to send me to a post that didn't have my MOS attached to it. He also tried to convince me that all active duty contracts started out with an enlistment MOS of 11B. So, yes, recruiters are known to lie to fill their recruitment numbers.
