I haven’t received my platform yet but my wife is asking about deployments and what they’ll be like for my MOS and I’d like to put her at ease. What can I expect?

You will have deployments; you are in the Army. To assuage your wife let her know that you will not be out there on the front lines getting blown up.

Take what I say with a grain of salt as I haven't yet personally deployed, though I can tell you what everyone from my unit said it's like for our MOS. You can expect steady hours, generally 12 on 12 off. You'll be flying from the shelter of course, and generally won't have reason to leave the FOB, so you'll be about as safe as a deployment can get, being that you're in a steel shell on the FOB, which has a filter for CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) filters on it. Everything in life has risk, whether driving a car or operating in a deployed environment. You'll also be able to purchase Wi-Fi, and as such can keep in contact with her during deployment

Thanks PFC! That’s along the lines of what I’ve been telling her, personally the risk doesn’t concern me but it’s nice being able to keep her calm about the whole thing lol

Grey Eagle...no experience.
Shadow...Larger bases (FOB's) or smaller outposts (COP, JSS, OP) on the side of a mountain. Kinda depends on where you go or what the unit wants to do with you. Or you could end up on a deployment (rotation) in Korea or Europe.
Expectations...Operate aircraft, fill generators, maintain equipment, keep your respective areas clean.
