Hi all, I have read stuff about soldiers getting a THAAD certification along with their PATRIOT training, is this possible or even true? Do I have to finish PATRIOT AIT before THAAD can begin? Or is THAAD a whole other MOS? Wanting to know because it’ll open up more opportunities if I can do it all.

THAAD is an additional skill for 14E's which is identified with the ASI 7A, making you a 14E7A. You use to be able to volunteer for it but it seems to be random now on who gets to attend the school. You can always ask your leadership to attend the school.

When I went through, thaad gets randomly selected from graduating 14e classes.... supposedly. But no one from my class went that'd. My guess is that you request to go thaad by asking/telling your instructor that you want to do it.

When I went through as a transition, they would pick about 4 people per class to get to go right after AIT. They only picked your superstars. So top of the class in all areas. Not sure how they are doing it now with covid and all that, but you can always get it later on as a reenlistment option.

not true, because my class had 1 guy that graduated with a 99% in grades and 300 on pt and he didn't get thaad. And no one from my class went thaad. None of use wanted thaad or requested it. I'm sure you can get in just by asking.
