If you ets in 30 days can they put you on a detail for 30 days?

serious question please no bullshit, if you ets in 33 days can they put you on a month long detail thats every day for a month? Even though you need to clear? They said they have someone to replace me only for appointments yet i need to do alot of stuff online and clean my gear and all

Short answer... Yes they can.
Slightly longer answer.... Your unit can designate your assigned duties up to and including the very minute you are no longer a part of the military. If you need a full 30 days to clear, you're doing something wrong (it never took me more than about 2-3 actual days to clear, realizing Army is different than AF). Unless the rules have changed, all your unit is required to do is allow you time and availability to clear, how they do that is up to them.

My buddy has to stay past his ets leave because clearing is taking forever, he's been at it for 2 weeks

In my last unit, they tried something similar with an SPC, he reported it to AG Office and the Post Commander had no problem letting his stars fall on the BN Commander's head and everything solved they did not bother him anymore. In Ft Leavenworth is 15 to clear post no exceptions.
