So I was told if I don’t pass my pt test tomorrow I was going to be discharged with other than honorable.

As far as I’m aware I’ve only been counseled once over failing pt

I have one counseling for being late once

And during AT they sent me home last year because of medical issues.

Is there anything I can do to extend my record pt test date or get it bumped up to a higher discharge. The internet I’ve read says people don’t get this low of discharge for pt failure alone.

Here is the problem: After reading this post and some of your other posts when checking out your profile, I have determined you to be a quitter. This is why you can’t pass the APFT or ACFT, you have no heart or drive. Neither one is even that hard. I’m almost 40 and got a wild hair last month, so I got shit face drunk and had some buddies administer a no bullshit APTF in the morning. I wanted to see how I would do compared to when I was 18. Holy shit wouldn’t you know I scored in the 70’s in each event at the 18 year old standards. I don’t work out much, I just maintain. What I do is give a shit and have heart and drive.
You more than likely will receive a general discharge, if you fail your test. So you have a choice, keep being a quitter, and get kicked out, or dig down grab your sack, your give a shit, and your heart and exceeded the standard.

SPC (Join to see), you might want to re-read AR 635-200 Ch 13. If you want to through regs around at least quote the correctly, and read definitions.
Ch.13, Section II, 13-8 states: “The service of SoldiersSeparated because of unsatisfactory performance will be characterized as honorable or under honorable conditions as warranted by their military record (see paragraph 3–5 and 3–7). While you can find the definition in multiple locations in this AR, it is spelled out very blatantly in the glossary, section II, Character of service for administrative separation: The three characterizations are honorable, general (under honorable conditions), and under other than honorable conditions.
That being said, I stand by my previous statement; “General” discharge.

To address your second comment: I understand the question was mostly about if something was true or false however, this was a perfect opportunity to do what CSM’s do best, give the no BS answer and tell Soldiers, NCO’s, and Officers the truth that needs to be said, not what they want to hear. It is a tried and true fact that a good percentage of people who are told the absolute facts of why they are failing fix the problem. Hence my brutal honesty about being a quitter, having no heart or drive.
Before you call out people on here, you should do two things: finish your profile and get verified, and do a bunch of research to make sure you are correct, especially when you are calling out superiors, chances are they no their stuff.

CSM Eric Biggs On that point, what would you advdise a commander to be looking for in pushing an honorable vs general discharge, specifically when it comes to failing to meet standards like this? I feel like the decision usually gets tied up with legal and the officer's judgement is made relatively trivial in the end. The most important aspect is the SM's packet (or lack thereof).

1LT (Join to see), good question Sir. I would advise the commander to look at the totality of the situation and the whole Soldier. Read all the counselings, and determine if the Soldier is failing or is the Soldier being failed by leadership. Go from there. However I agree most of the time things get screwed up as soon as JAG gets ahold of it.

COVID19 and EXORD 164-20 I believe it is has strict guidance on APFT. If you had a passing PT score that is to remain valid until further notice. Only the SM can request to take an APFT and that is to remove a flag from that SMs personnel file or if the SM requests a PT test. Previous PT scores remain valid for PME, Reenlistment, etc.

To further from my initial comment below is the title to the EXORD. If you have CAC access I recommend logging into MILSUITE and reviewing this order and passing on to your CoC. If you search for the S1NET homepage, they have done an amazing job posting FRAGOs, EXORDS, ALARACTS, and MILPERs that pertain to this very topic.

Again this is all under the assumption that you have a passing PT score for Training Year (TY) 20. Only you can request to take a record PT test.

OTH discharge for PT test failure is bull****. That being said, you will be flagged and may face other negative repercussions (e.g. loss of SMP status, medical board, etc.). I suggest that you talk to JAG and your ROTC cadre to understand the situation better.
