Does anyone have access to the MIBOLC Welcome Letter? I am supposed to report to MIBOLC pretty soon. Because I was an SMP cadet I have been discharged from the Guard in order to switch to AD. This has caused the system to lock me out of my email and any website that involves signing in with a CAC.

Also, if anyone has any MIBOLC-related information/ guidance or general advice that I should've received via DOD email I would much appreciate it.

Take your own vehicle. You might have a chance to get a rental when you get there, but you’ll then have to switch it out every so often and that’ll take time out from your education. Depending on how far you are away from Huachuca, this can be a major help.

Taking my own vehicle was definitely the best decision! I don’t know how some of my other classmates managed all trying to shuffle around one rental car over a 4 month period.

The base for the most part is pretty nice. The course seem to be somewhat outdated based on the equipment that they utilized on paper for training scenario purposes. As an SMP cadet now 2LT, add imagine you have some time in service and or potential experience whether it be a deployment or not either way one of the biggest takeaways from the course, really any course in the military is making connections with people because you would be shocked as to how quickly you may coming back across these people.
I personally completed my course and 11 days later we mobilize for Afghanistan and by the time we got into theater one of the students that was in my class that I became friends with was stationed at the same facility I was and two other officers were located in various parts of the country which goes to show that the army, big as it may be can be small. That being said building these connections and relationships with other people can help out tremendously especially in a situation such as a deployment because you now have a person that you have the ability to reach out to and know firsthand whether or not they are competent and if the information they are giving you and or the direction they are pointing you is worth a damn or not.

Another big thing, if you are not big on PT, I suggest you start running a lot because the altitude there alone will throw you for a loop, I know I personally have that issue and the amount of time that they give you for acclamation it is quite honestly a joke, but nonetheless it is what it is. The instructors are pretty knowledgeable for the most part and will help you out as long as you were trying to help yourself and also remember that you have your peers that you can lean on as well so don’t be like some that were scared shitless that if they messed up on a test they were going to get held back into another class. Other than that, show up on time and do the work that is required of you and understand that you are able to stay after some days and if not other classmates may be renting a house off post and or doing as I did and had a room at the hotel right off post that was paid for so I did not have to utilize post to Billeting, therefore giving you an area for y’all to meet up and go over whatever it is you may be training or studying for.
Best of luck to you and I’m sure you’ll do just fine. Oh and one last thing, do not for the love of God drink and drive around that place unless you want to see how fast your security clearance can get revoked and you can get your ass handed to you and stay away from privates that are there for school! This may sound self-explanatory and like one of those no shit statements, but you will see you when you arrive how many times they go over that exact information with you because every class somebody tests those rules and screws up.
