As stated before, I was a young soldier who Honorably did my 4-year initial contract and discharged to go to school and travel and see the world. Years later, I fell onto hard times and luckily was able to train and went through so many hoops and loops to return to the US Army. I want to stay in as long as I can this time around, but am hearing rumors and thoughts I do not know much about.
First, If I am to reenlisted, will I be able to get the job I truly wanted, and possibly in the realm of bonuses, or am I stuck as needs of the Army due to my Prior-Service handled.
My BASD/DIEMS date is still my original entry date, and I have heard rumors that if I cannot get this fixed by the time I goto BLC (or received my SGT since it is automatic) I would be barred from reenlisted due to being an SPC for 8+ years (Not accurate, again paperwork).
What can I do to reassure everything works out in a way that I can stay in, be able to take care of my military career and family, and also not be stuck doing something I am not enjoying in a place I was not hoping for?
I am able to answer more specific questions below if needed

Good luck on your process my brother and keep your head up. Going back in is something that is very tempting! I know this is about how to get back in but you also have all the tools to make it while your out. Keep grinding no matter what you decide or what the outcome is your going to be able to make it with or without the army. Not saying anything bad about the army I just know if I can make it you can to my guy.

Talk to a recruiter. You may get your dream job if there are shortages in that MOS.

I am in the process of talking to one now, but due to being in my first year, COVID, and her schedule, it is a slow process, I wanted to use RallyPoint in order to know more on the subject chief in order to have a more throughout conversation with her.

Adjusted Basic Pay Entry Date will keep you off the exit list but you may have to 'educate' some folks on what that means in your situation. I know a person (not me) that beat a QMP board because as a 1990s SSG with 19 years he was flagged for reenlistment. He did have to get JAG involved since that was the only reason given by the board. He was an excellent soldier.

Ironically, I am going to the STM board in September against alot of other SPC and my ASUs are stacked against their 2 to 3 awards...so I will feel a bit weird about that.
As of the BPED issue, I have let alot of people know, but as I been seeing some people just glance at paperwork and make their decision without giving it a second thought..Why I am here now to get more educated so I can explain it better.
