Anyone have experience, transitioning from guard/reserves to active duty?

Just curious how things went when you showed up to your new unit. Currently pushing a DD 368 up my chain, Amy and all responses are appreciated! Thanks!

Don't be surprised if the Active Unit makes you repeat some of the training that you took in the Guard and some Guard Courses don't cross over 100%

Well I don't know too much info about you so I'm going to speculate. Just because you've done five to six years in the guard does not mean that the big army is going to recognize that. They literally will add up your drill time, AT time, over seas deployments (no state deployments) any active duty days like ADOS/GDOS, to recognize how to pay you or how "long" you have been serving. Worse case, your TIG/TIS may start back to zero but you will retain rank. Your NG ribbons, put them in a little box of memories. Any specialized training, you will keep (BLC, Airborne...)

Just got done with this process, reporting to Fort Hood next week as an infantryman, I’ll keep you updated
