I have filed several claims for disability compensation that have been denied for different reasons. One reason pretty much said I was fat and old. But a back injury affects young, old, athletes and anyone else who has had one. I have updated all my medical MRI,s x-rays and Dr.'s, I am going to go back and file a claim again but I have yet to find someone who will care enough to help with the whole compensation process. I have had to move to different states due to my husband's job and that is I filed in a different state. I have a Veterans Services here in Cambridge MA that helped me file a claim. They injury I have happened while I was on active duty and back then a the Dr. would prescribe Tylenol and move on. The response I get when I go to this services is "well you probably won't get approved but we'll send it in anyway." This is very disturbing and emotionally and mentally stressful. There has to be someone that is truly there to help older veterans trying to get disability compensation.

Many states have their own Veteran's organization which will help maximize federal benefits including Compensation & Pension claims. In MA you can find them at https://www.mass.gov/orgs/massachusetts-department-of-veterans-services
Good luck!
Good luck!
Massachusetts Department of Veterans' Services
The mission of the Department of Veterans’ Services is to advocate on behalf of all the Commonwealth’s veterans and provide them with quality support services and to direct an emergency financial assistance program for those veterans and their dependents who are in need.
