How long after you start receiving VA disability is your rating locked in

So I was medically retired for asthma 2 years ago and now the VA wanted to test my lung function. No big deal right well after the test the respiratory therapist said after my breathing treatment the results didn't really change. So now I'm worried that the VA is going to come back and say that I don't have asthma and take my disability away. Any help or advise would greatly be appreciated.

If your breathing didn't change why would they say you don't have asthma? Either way if you can breath right you should be happy. Screw the money.
Your rating is never "locked in". They can change it any time the need arises. If you appeal a rating or submit for something new they can change the rating up, or down, as they see fit. The only time that a rating is not challenged is if you get the rare "Total and permanent" designation. Hope this helps.

well they just said that the results didn't show any change after a breathing treatment. I'm not an expert on asthma so I really don't know what that means, and when it comes to the money I could care less about it I'm more concerned about my vet preference because I just applied for a fed job on base.

Sounds like, they gave you a treatment which was supposed to better your breathing, and it did nothing. That suggests to me that whatever the breathing condition you walked in with, you still have. It was the condition vs. treatment and the treatment won.

The message is a little cryptic. If your results have not changed, it would be logical for them not to change your rating.

If asthma is a service connected disability but it is improving, wouldn't that be a good thing? If I'm understanding you correctly, you developed asthma while serving?

Yeah I got developed it while serving. The main issue is it PT induced and allergies induced so as long as I take my allergy medicine I have no symptoms of it.
