Have you noticed you're paying more for everything over the last few years?

Have you ever wondered why?

Are you familiar with inflation, and how countries use it to reduce the cost of their debt burdens?

I've been studying social security for about 5 years now, and am convinced of two things: (1) the FEDGOV will continue shipping out social security checks into perpetuity, and (2) the purchasing power money will continue to decrease, and probably at a much more accelerated rate.

I think this scenario applies with our military pensions as well. Col Snuffy is expecting 60% of $90k a year in retirement, and it ends up having only the same purchasing power as $1,500 or so has today, for example.

I dunno... I thought I would toss it out to you all and see what you think. I'm not an economist, but I have studied economics quite intently over the last 7 years. My studies of history juxtaposed against our current economic climate leads me to believe the value of our pensions is being inflated away.

What say you, brothers and sisters?

As long as we continue to have the same crooked politicians in Congress and the WH the problem will perpetuate and be exasperated until there is nothing left for anyone but the 1%s, we need to make drastic changes at the top to be able to even start on the road to any recovery let alone full recovery, until that subject is broached and addressed, nothing will change or get better, as we will fall deeper into debt, lose more bankability of our assets, have even less purchasing or buying power and not have any benefits left or any things left for our children or their children after we are dead and gone within the system.

"Crooked politician"... but you repeat yourself. ;-)

We are never going to get the 'right' group of people in office. If you examine history, you'll see that just 9 years after the Constitution was ratified, the FEDGOV passed the Aliens and Seditions act, making it a criminal offense to criticize the POTUS or government officials. Jefferson asked that he, as VEEP be left out of that nonsense.

In 1861, Lincoln completely suspended the Constitution.

Later that decade, Lysander Spooner would opine, in his book "No Treason: A Constitution of No Authority,"

"Whether the Constitution be one thing or another, this much is true: it has either authorized such a government as we have, or it has been powerless to prevent it."

How can we expect justice, fairness, integrity or honor out of a group who use the terms to pump up their campaign support, but never live by the tenets of their meaning? ALL politicians are guilty of this to varying degrees.
