Have you noticed that the stingiest people on award recommendations always have the most awards and say, "that was their job"!

What are your thoughts and is it just their job or is recognition appropriate?

You shouldn't give awards for doing your job. However, when soldiers go above and beyond their job description, awards are appropriate. I also think a soldier should be recognized for a distinguished performance over time ( ie.. Retiring or leaving a long held position with exceptional service).
