I have a question I'm an E4 with 18 months left on my contract. My question is can they chapter me for failing a test being this close to ets. I was told that I was gonna take said test and if I fail then I will be given another opportunity to take it again. If I fail the second one then they will give me a bar once that is in place I have 180 days to have it removed or else they will start the chapter. What I want to know is what chapter could I receive and can they chapter me. Because by the time everything is done it would only cut me short 6 months From my original ets date. I'm asking cause I need your knowledge in this issue. Thanks !!

Lol yes, you can be chaptered all the way up to your last minute on active duty. Don’t fail the test and they won’t have to.

Not sure if you are Active Duty or TPU....but:
Active Duty: Army Regulation 635–200
National Guard and Reserve: Army Regulation 135–178
These are the Enlisted Separations regulations. Read the one that pertains to you. To answer your immediate question...YES THEY CAN!!!!!
