Husband is currently in AIT for 14E and is a E6 prior service Navy.

Why would your husbands prior service rank afford him the opportunity to be placed in a THAAD unit? There is literally no correlation to 14E and THAAD other then an additional skill identifier.

Just because your husband was an E6 in the Navy does not mean he will be as successful in the Army.

SSG (Join to see) You misread my question. I wanted to know if a prior service soldier could even be selected for rank.

Ashley Parsons - "Do E6 prior service soldiers get selected for THAAD in AIT?" this is your question. My response which is still the same is THAAD is a separate skill identifier from the MOS 14E. He will go to AIT and learn Patriot and when he gets to his unit, they can send him to learn THAAD if the unit has THAAD. Its not based on rank nor prior service.

You are wrong SSG. It’s typically an ASI you go to immediately after AIT graduation. I have been in THAAD/FBM for 5 years.

Since THAAD falls under "ADA", as does 14E, there is always a chance for a Soldier within that branch to get selected to THAAD. That Soldier would need to complete the THAAD school at Ft. Sill, OK IOT get the ASI.
