My wife and I are a dual army couple and are set to PCS to Korea in the near future. We have no dependents and our orders state “This assignment is for Tour Equity (12 months) to serve at the same location with spouse and is not a Join Domicile Assignment.” With that being said, we will be in the barracks. Would we be able to get our own barracks room being that we are married? I’m a SGT (P) she’s a SPC. We will fall under the same BDE in Korea.

A lot of factors involved. Do they have Coed barracks, are you going to the same Company, cannot have separate command authority. Anything is possible. I would stay the process now, at least you will be in the commands radar. If you are in separate company’s I would send the request the the Battalion CSM, separate Battalions sent to the BDE CSM.

Check the brigade policies. I saw one online from 35 air defense from 2017 allowing married couples to occupy the same barracks room if approved in writing by the battalion commander...
Definitely need to check with both chain of commands.

I saw this happen when I was on Camp Casey. Twice. In the same Battalion. On one occasion they were both Sergeants. On the second occasion, one was a SGT and the other a SPC non promotable. Although they might have to put you in different Companies [Batteries in my case], if you have a memorandum or Exemption to Policy signed by your O-5, you are authorized to have a barracks room together. However, this was at a time when the curfew was still in play. Might be different now. I would talk with your sponsor and see what they can find out for you. But being in the same BDE would definitely be a big help.
