Ok so I have to ask. How many here that believe in our second amendment rights will vote for someone for President that wants to take those rights away?

Somehow President Ronald Reagan, despite several infringements on the 2nd while Governor of California, was elected. He also signed the Undetectable Firearms Act of 1988 in addition to the advocacy for a the Brady Act after his attempted assassination.
Bush Sr. signed the Gun-Free School Zones Act in 1990.
In 1997 while Governor of Texas, GW Bush Jr. signed into law restrictions on open carry of sidearms, limits on concealed carry of sidearms, and on the ability of nonresidents (military personnel) to get licensed to carry in the state of Texas.
So for the love of God, stop with the scare tactics. In spite of the GOPs claim that the democrats are coming to take your guns, more gun rights have been signed away by GOP presidential candidates than democrat.
Do I need to go into details on the 2nd amendment track records of current GOP hopefuls?
Ted Cruz - Talks the talk, has voted party line.
Rand Paul - Talks the talk, but no significant votes to support his claims
Jeb Bush - Maintain state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms. support an instant background check for all guns purchased at a gun show.
Scott Walker - 48 hour waiting period on handguns. CC License required
Chris Christie - No right-to-carry cross-state reciprocity, gun control from a law enforcement perspective. New Jersey continues to be one of the most restrictive states in the union regarding gun control.
Mike Huckabee - Good on guns and the Arkansas gun laws reflect his stated values.
Marco Rubio - NRA rates as a B+ because of some gun reform laws he did not support.
Rick Santorum - A+ with the NRA
Rick Perry - TX gun laws still in effect, see the mention of Bush Jr. earlier.
Bobby Jindal - Louisiana continues to maintain minimal gun control laws.
Carly Fiorina - Talks the talk, but nothing to substantiate her position.
Ben Carson - No automatic weapons in cities...
Your GOP candidates aren't a guarantee of the continuity of the 2nd Amendment, and many of them are an out right threat to it.

One correction. You don't know if I'm GOP or Dem. I simply asked a question out of curiosity. I was curious how Vets feel about it.

You come out as anti-Hillary, which is fair, I know a lot of Dems that don't like her, but my money after the last 8 years of the "Obama is gonna take your guns" rhetoric and the record firearms sales that resulted, the NRA is going to quietly funnel a lot of money into Hillary's war chest.
There are many of the GOP front runners that, in truth, are more anti-gun than Hillary is. So the party line isn't a guarantee. Still, Second Amendment is "unrepealable", which makes it more of a side argument.
Still, I'm a proponent of "An armed society is a polite society." Of course, that may simply be the case because the first few years of no restrictions will have all the rage machines killing each other off.

If someone tells me that they are coming to seize my rifle or pistol I believe them. You are not taking into consideration how different things are today from then. Today the Progressive Socialist Party (formerly the Democrat Party), tell you openly that they are will seize your weapons. President Trump and 90% of the GOP will not, and that have a 4 year record now of not doing so. That's good enough for me (right now).

So, where do you stand on Dan Crenshaw's call for Red Flag Laws?
The NRA's call for more control, again, as more and more black activists are open carry at demonstrations?
