The U.S. Army Natick Soldier
Research, Development and Engineering Center (NATICK) are finalizing the recipe
for a pizza that will last three years without refrigeration. These may be the
same people that recommended using sawdust in ground beef to stretch it several
years ago. After all, trees are vegetables, I think. It didn’t taste too bad
and you could use it to make a fire in an emergency. Those who remember
C-rations recall how it hooked millions of soldiers on Tabasco hot sauce. Funny
thing, I thought pizza was already good for three years without refrigeration. For

Great blog and I had actually just read the article on the new pizza MRE this past week in the Army Times, it is funny what they utilize as preservatives at times, similar to the rubber compound that Subway was using in their bread for baking. LOL
