Coming up on my ETS after 8 years in the Guard. I was told that I probably won’t see my discharge papers for another 3 months after my ETS. How can I get them quicker so I can go active duty Navy?

If you ETS this month, your discharge order is probably already published, or will publish no later than the end of the month.
You won't get an NGB 22 at all until you request it, so do that now.
Your state has a website, the G1 page should have information about how to email your NGB 22 request.

What state are you in?

The best way will be to request it from state G1 by phone and follow up on it by checking back.

I switched from the guard to the reserve and was already in the reserve before I got it. In hindsight you could have got a conditional release from the Guard stating you were in good standing allowing you to join the Navy prior to the end of your contract.

Michigan, sir. I did attempt a couple of conditional releases. My BC would not sign off on them, I believe to keep numbers and seeing how close I was to my ETS anyway.

I left the Michigan Guard over a year ago. I looked though my old email but I couldn't find the lady's info that does them. I did check the date it was uploaded into my records and it was around 4 months after I left the Guard. Is there another document that could be use to show the status of your service? It would be a shame if you had to wait an additional 4 months.
