The Island of Manhattan aka New Amsterdam was traded for the Spice Islands back in 1664 and renamed New York. Why would anyone buy this "alternative history"?

Follow up the Brttish East India Comany and the Dutch East India Company are the same think of the Brits as a subsidiary. more proof, the SEAL of New York is a Dutch Seal:Sometimes considered a dysfunctional trading post by the English who later acquired it from the Dutch, Russell Shorto, author of "The Island at the Center of the World", suggests that the city left its cultural marks on later New York and, by extension, the United States as a whole.[1]

I'm not sure what part of it being an English territory and then a US territory after the Revolutionary War you want me to prove. The notion (posited in your original article) that Manhattan is still a foreign power is absurd. Having been there, I can assure you it is a part of the United States.
