During my time in the Marines, there were a lot of ups and downs. Which made me think that I would never wanted to reenlist. Fast forward 5 years, I miss being apart of something bigger than myself and am trying to get back into the military. I graduated from Ohio State with a degree in Environmental Economics and am having a hard time finding employment in a very competitive field.

So, I have been contemplating about getting back into the military and talked to a recruiter today. It turns out that I have been out for 5 years now and would be required to go through the Army basic training.

With that being said, If you're a Marine and have been through Army Basic training, how was it compared to ours? And, how was it being prior service? Do the DI's still fuck with you or do they kind of leave you alone?

I’m also too, about to go over. Doing an inter-service as an E-4. So it’s really not that bad for us? I’m contracted for Cav Scouts

Why are you not going back as an active duty Marine? With a degree, why are you not going to OCS?

I will always be proud to be a Marine but lets face it, the army has a bigger budget and is a little more laid back. I'm trying to get into OCS but would need 10 letters of recommendations.
