You're not eligible to apply for a SMU until you are an NCO. Once you meet the prerequisites you will get an automated email to your military email

I have been getting invites to briefing since I was a PFC

SSG (Join to see) invites to briefings go to everyone. Invitations to apply are different. No SMUs accept junior enlisted, unless you're VERY exceptional.
