Recently was selected for Direct Commission in December 2019 as a ER Nurse. I am reserves currently transitioning to AD. How long did you have to wait to receive AD Orders for DCC and BOLC. Was informed I wouldn’t be released until I report to DCC from my reserve unit. My recruiter said I am waiting for Nurse manager to reach out to me and it’s been almost 2 months since I was told that.

It took 13 months for me, once I crossed over I realized the wait was worth it. Army compared to civilian nursing is a different and much rewarding experience. Every situation is different, I wanted to come in as an O-3 so I had to wait longer than usual. I came from reserves as well, just make sure your DD368 does not expire prior to DCC or you might run into issues that can be easily squared away if your recruiter is tracking

How long did it end up taking for you? I'm currently going through this same transition. Just commissioned AD and my 368 is approved and discharge orders from reserves coming this week.

1LT (Join to see) - I am discharged from reserves and re-comissioned AD and new contract signed but I don't have orders for AD yet. I was sent to DCC by my Reserve unit but was never sent to BOLC the 2 years I was there, it was a whole ordeal. So I'm hoping the fact I've already done DCC might help me get orders a little faster. Crossing my fingers--I'm ready to go!

Im not even sure how you got DCC and not BOLC immediately after, unless you are Reserves. That doesnt make any sense. Also i was informed from the career manager that i wouldnt be discharged from the reserves (before they messed it up and discharged me prematurely) until i reported for AD for DCC and BOLC. If youre going AD and the only thing missing is said 368 which you should have shortly i was just for a lack of better word annoy the branch manager. I had to in order to be where i am now due to i hit every hiccup possible with this process

1LT (Join to see) - Yeah, I was reserves. My reserve unit sent me to DCC but never sent me to BOLC. I have been discharged from the reserves. That is how they will be able to get my active orders, according to my recruiter. HRC needed my d/c orders and 368 prior to cutting AD orders. Everything they need is done and ready and submitted. Just waiting at this point!
