Can my approved convalescent leave get pulled because I want to go back to my home state to be taken care of after surgery?

I’m about to go through surgery. They gave me convalescent leave. My 1sgt signed it then my commander and it has a control number.. then today I was talking to my 1sgt and he seemed surprised I said that I was going back to my home state to be taken care of after my surgery. He said he’d look into it.. can someone please explain if they can pull convalescent leave after it’s been fully accepted.. and what would be the reason to do such a thing?

I found nothing in AR 600-8-10 (Leaves and Passes) stating that you can't go home for con leave. I would recommend you and/or your NCOs seek out S1 and see if they can find anything specific. As for yanking all ready approved Con Leave request....there better be a damn good reason for this.

MSG (Join to see) I won’t be able to drive for a month. I won’t be able to lift anything with two hands. So every single thing I have to do to take care of my self I can’t really do. I would need another soldier from my unit to my caregiver.

SPC (Join to see) If you live in the barracks, meals are provided via DFAC. Bed is provided, as is shower. Soap and shampoo should not require a 2-handed lift, so you are good there. Same for fork at the chow hall.
I am POSITIVE someone at the barracks (or someone in your CoC) can give you a lift to the PX once a week to stock up on hygiene supplies.
You do not NEED to go home, based on what you have said. You WANT to go home, because it would be more comfortable and more convenient.
Not saying that is a reason to deny, especially if the surgeon is recommending, but let's call a spade a spade.

SFC Casey O'Mally very true. I’d rather have company with family rather than sit in a barracks room for thirty days, which can be a very sad existence. Thanks for the help!
