How legitimate are agencies for Vets?

I get solicited by several organizations that profess to support Veterans, especially wounded Vets. I've supported some, but others I'm not knowledgeable enough to send donations. Anyone know how I can check out some of these agencies to find out how legit they are, before I send money?

Depends on which ones bro.. Some truly help Vet and some only help when pressed about donation they received.
