Process for switching from Army Guard to Air Guard within the same state as an officer: is there a medical exam; who performs it; is it more, less, or equally stringent as the initial entry examination; and are medical recor analyzed as part of the exam? Looking to transfer from ARNG to ANG but I am not as healthy as I was when I enlisted 10 years ago. High performer in physical training and in my job duties. Also no medically required limitations, but I do have some medical issues now that I didn’t have then. Also, right or wrong, when I first enlisted, my recruiter said not to disclose anything unless you could see it. Although I know that a lot of people still follow that or similar guidance, I don’t feel comfortable doing that now that I am older and wiser.

many many many years ago, I switched from the Air Guard to the Army Guard. There was no physical. I got a conditional release from my unit and showed up at the new unit the next month. But, that was many years ago and I was going USAF to Army and not Army to USAF.
