How do I go about permissive relocation through MACP?

My husband is at Bragg and I’m at Carson. We got married December first last year after we had both already been assigned to our first duty stations. I know I have to be on Carson for a year before I can actually move. But is it true that I can put in for the move at 6 months so that when that year hits I will already have orders and be on my way? I’ve read the regulation (AR 614-200) and just need clarification on how to begin this option since I’ll hit 6 months at Carson in March. I also know that if I do this option, the move is money out of pocket and I have to take ordinary leave instead of PCS leave. Just need some extra guidance/clarification. Thanks in advance!

I thought this was one of those things no one ever actually does like a unit swap, because it's unrealistically expensive. It's COMPLETELY out of pocket and on your own recognizance. There is no reimbursement, travel days, or government assistance. There will still need to be an opening for your MOS and several months to get it approved and be placed on orders.

This is something your CSM will probably have to work. This is a rare Easter Egg. I wish you the best of luck.
