The answer is yes. DIC entitlement is guaranteed as long as you have been rated 100% for ten or more years (to include individual unemployability), that 100% rating is service connected, and you've been married for a year or more (or have a child born from that marriage). You are entitled to burial in a VA cemetery, as is your wife. As for a military funeral service, check with the cemetery where you intend to be buried.

Usually, if you served a certain amount of time or got medically retired because of your service, you might be eligible. But it's best to check with the VA or your branch for the deets. As for DIC (Dependency and Indemnity Compensation), it's possible if your death is related to your service. It's not a guarantee, though, so it's smart to look into it. Also, if you're planning ahead, I stumbled upon this site, https://newrestfunerals.co.uk/, while surfing the web. They seem to offer some helpful info on military funerals, might be worth a peek.

MAJ Ken Landgren - And I certainly don't. There's not a day goes by on this forum where I'm not looking up acronyms, especially as they apply to current active service.

SGT Robert Pryor - I guess I am a stickler for acronyms because I have written Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) where we must spell out the acronym at the start of the document.
