What are appropriate penalties for minor infractions as a SIT?

I've heard a SIT who has a minor infraction such as calling another soldier by their first name during Red Week is routinely denied favorable training i.e. jump school, after OSUT and before reporting to their first duty station. Anyone heard of this? Base specific? Up to the DS or Commander?

I would think the penalty should be proportional to the infraction. Enough to get the SIT's attention and teach them a lesson, but not so much they can't overcome it with reasonable effort. Depends on the infraction or violation I would say.
