What documents would someone need in order to sign a contract, without an early release, to transition into another branch?

Has anyone done a service transfer but still finished out their current commitment? I’m wanting to do Air Force to Army without ending my contract early but still not having a break in service. Currently waiting for my Commander to sign my DD 368?

Well for one thing it’s more of a family tradition, all have served in the Army or Marines, also different opportunities for training and deployments etc. I firmly believe the whole “your career is in your hands”.

I can totally understand that, but I did it the other way and finished with the AF, I can honestly say I had the best experiences with the AF .. being SFS you know what I mean.

Then that's not an interservice transfer and it doesn't require a conditional release. That's just a normal ETS and a well planned switch. You'll almost definitely have a break unless you took a bunch of transition leave because the Army won't be able to process you fully without your DD214.

DD 368 - conditional release form. It’ll need a recruiters signature and needs to go up for approval in order to be released. I recommend that you start speaking to a recruiter and seeing what MOSs are available

I currently have one routed up but the recruiter says I can’t sign anything until the Air Force releases me. Big Air Force says they don’t need to approve it since I’m not requesting early release

If definitely ask the recruiter. I’m in the process of going back to the Navy and I don’t have to be released since I’m switching over to another branch

I’ll give them a call and see if they can clarify exactly what’s needed. Best of luck
