I may be moving there from WI if I land a job there I am gunning for. Doing some homework now to consider all variables of work and life there.

Kids? That matters a little for schools and athletic programs.
I got stationed here in 2001, and have mostly lived in Layton. Most of the surrounding cities have good neighborhoods...Farmington, Kaysville, Clearfield, most parts of Sunset, Roy, and Clinton are good, too. North Ogden, West Haven. All depends on size of home and lot size you're looking for, as well as schools if you have kids.

Let me know if you need more info about anything. My wife is 3rd gen Laytonian, and I'm friends and family/related by marriage with some of the city's OG founding families in Layton.

Not to mention my grandfather did his B-17 training out at Wendover Field for WWII. 19 Bombing Missions over Europe.

Any areas around The base are good. Just stay out of Ogden. Older run down city. Housing is in a bit of a boom right now so prices are high everywhere. South end of Base you will hear the jets flying.
