I am a Army reservist on orders for 62 days. Why do I have to wait 30 days for pay?

Unfortunately the reserves have only 3 ways to pay orders, 1 to 7 days get paid after the order is complete and turned in signed. 8 to 29 days can be inputted into the systems and paid basically right when the orders end if all goes well, most UA's will split those orders so they can pay you if you can't wait, over 30 days goes to the unit finance on that post and it takes however long they need to process, and in some cases reservist are not a priority for them.

d. Know and use your pay chain of command
Your unit should have a pay chain of command flyer on the unit bulletin board. If your UA/RPAC cannot resolve your problem, they must contact the Regional Support Command (RSC) Finance Division in your unit’s region for assistance. If you feel that your unit is not resolving your problem, contact the RSC below that services your unit’s state.

Note the site you attached will not come up, but I would ask the UA to explain any pay question first and foremost. But unless they changed RLAS reserve orders are only paid 3 ways.

I know I have reclassed and just for pay purposes they cut my orders in 15 to 18 day increments to avoid such pay problems.

Also note, they could have advised said soldiers of taking an advance in pay to cover expenses.

Welcome to the unfortunate to the “you’re a soldier but you’re not a real soldier” experience of reserve and guard. As others said when you in process finance is one of the things that can lag and miss the cut off for deadlines delaying your pay. Horrible to expect someone to go that long without pay especially since many of us don’t get paid by civilian jobs when on leave so you’re not just without your military pay, but also your civilian pay. It was not fun going on 28 days of orders and not being paid until over a month later for it. Thankfully my federal job gives me 15 days of paid military leave so I still had my partial civilian pay coming in on time.
