Hello all,

I'm currently in IRR and was looking to join the Reserve unit with the same MOS. I was offered an E-6 slot (I'm an E-5 currently) as a 68W Instructor, but I can't seem to find any information on what that position entails. Also, I have not attended the Army Basic Instructor Course.

All I currently know is that unit falls under TRADOC; I'm interested to know what that would mean in regards to the duties and what they do for annual training.

Thanks a lot!

I would assume it could be as an instructor for those reclassing under the reserve program, your POI is the same as active but your time frame is shorter, most reclass course under the reserves are multi phased, so you could be assigned a phase or you may have to learn the whole course.

If not Table VIII, could be CLS.

Sgt, a 68W instructor for a reserve unit, assuming it's a medical unit, is responsible for teaching 68W recert classes. At least, this is the case in my unit. (Field Hospital, formerly a CSH)

It could also be a similar situation to a reserve drill Sgt unit, or you could be an instructor for soldiers who reclass to 68W
