I'm about to go from AiT to Camp Humphrey and me and my fiance want to be able to have her come with me. How difficult is it and how long does it usually take to get orders changed to allow her to come live with me in Korea, or is it just completely depending on my command?

Unfortunatly she is a Canadian without her green card but my Sgt told me she could still come and we could work on her green card while I'm there aslong as we are married.

I know already I'll have to pay out of pocket for her and her stuff get there and have no issue with that.

It is very expensive to live in Korea at any rank if you are not command sponsored. If you bring her anyway, you won’t be doing right by her because she won’t have access to any base, medical, or housing. You are required to live in the barracks based upon your rank and won’t be able to rent any place there in Korea because you won’t receive any entitlements. Also, you would probably face UCMJ actions from your command if you bring a non-command sponsored dependent to Korea to live.
The information your NCO told you is incorrect because that’s an overseas assignment which has non-waiverable requirements. Talk to reassignments first before you make a irresponsible decision that could possibly cost you your career.

SFC Hobbs is correct. Your NCO gave you bad information. You CANNOT be command sponsored if you don't have dependents. A fiance is not a dependent. Something else to note, your passport stamp is only good for 90 days. So in essence, she will be in the country illegally once this time is up. Something else to consider, she won't be a priority when it comes to evacuation of family members. If you decide to get married before you leave, you will be nearly finished with your tour before the paperwork to bring her even gets looked at; much less approved. So, as SFC Boyd suggested, have her join you at the next station. Korea for her is highly unlikely to happen.

Your orders can't get changed, you're already there. Once you are there, you can apply for command sponsorship. That will take a very long time, plus you will have to do an additional year in Korea from once she arrives. In addition, because she does not have a Green Card, I am pretty certain she is not eligible for command sponsorship. Not 100% certain about the Green Card thing, I would definitely check with your S1 first.
Best bet is get married when you are ready and have her join you at your next duty station.

I was in korea last year and it took forever for a SGT to get her hubby from another country over. They ended up getting a place off post out of pocket for the duration of the deployment because no green card and all that stuff. I heard this all second hand though so grain of salt.
