BLUF: The course is now broken down into two phases, SEJPME I for E-6 and E-7, and SEJPME II tailored for E-8 and E-9 Students.

The Director, Joint Staff J-7 announced 26 Aug 2014 that the J-7 Deputy Directorate Joint Training Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) Division will assume responsibility for the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education (SEJPME) program. JKO is the Joint Staff system of record for online training in operation since April 2007 with over 1.8 million registered users and averages over 200,000 course completions per month. A coordinated transition plan between the National Defense University (NDU) Joint Forces Staff College (JFSC) and JKO is now under way through 1 Sep 2015.

JFSC will continue accepting enrollments to the current SEJPME course through 15 April 2015. The last SEJPME course administered by JFSC will run 1 May to 30 July 2015. Those currently enrolled in SEJPME are not affected and can proceed as planned.

JKO is updating and enhancing the SEJPME program as the Next Generation SEJPME consisting of two distinct courses. Roll out will be phased and begins 1 May 2015 when JKO launches a new version of the SEJPME E6-E9 course for immediate enrollment. JKO will begin offering the Next Generation SEJPME program as two courses, SEJPME I tailored for E6-E7 students and SEJPME II tailored for E8-E9 students on 1 Sep 2015.

We will post additional updates as we continue to execute the transition plan. For details please contact Mr. John Lipps (JFSC) at [login to see] ( [login to see] ) or Mr. Sean Sheridan (JKO) at [login to see] ( [login to see] )

MSgt Copeland, thanks for the information. I, along w/ about 465 others, took the senior most variant of this course last year as a pre-requisite to attend the US Army Sergeants Major Academy. It is a well structured and educational course, particularly for NCOs who have little to no Joint or Multinational experience (there are many). The NDU-JFSC also provides a resident capstone course for E9s.

BLUF to all the Services' NCOs: educate yourself, and accept that from now and into the future we will continue to operate as a Joint Force, whether that be in deterrence, unified operations against a threat, regional security and stability operations, special operations, civil-support to the homeland, or HADR.

No, we completed the full course. To add, I actually completed the first course they offered (online) back in 2008.

I took the current course a few years back when I was a 1SG. Great course. Looking forward to seeing the changes ahead. Thanks for posting TSgt Joshua Copeland.

I remember taking this course during my last deployment - I think it took me less than two weeks from start to finish - not sure it needed to be "broken down" - I think the content was relevant to all senior enlisted and I highly recommend this course.
