You probably cannot. There are very few times when the Army offers two year enlistments, and only with certain MOSs when they do. Even then, it's two years plus x amount of months for all the training. So, two years, 4 months of Basic and at least 2 months of AIT.

The MOS is 92G fool service/ culinary specialist. Do you think they would give a 2 year contract to that?? I would hate to have to request to get out the DEP program, and then get a waiver to try to rejoin with a different MOS. But it may be my only option because i dont want to be miserable for 4 years either lol

(Join to see) it's not a matter of what I think, it's a matter that they only offer 2 year contracts at certain times. I'm not aware of them offering 2 year contracts anymore.
It's a job. It's a job that pays and has benefits and TA. It's the same MOS I received when I joined. So you have to ask yourself, why were you offered this job and why did you pick it? Reapplying doesn't mean you will get a better choice of jobs. Then you have to consider is it better to work at a job, improve your position and move into a better job? Or is it better to hold out while you are not working (or doing whatever you're currently doing) so that you might get a different job 6 months to a year from now that you will still have to wait 2-10 months to ship off for?
Embrace the 80% solution, never hold out for the perfect 100% solution. You could be in the Army, completed a year of college, improved your ASVAB, and applying to a better MOS by the time you finally go to basic if you were to redo the DEP process.

(Join to see) - What you watched is just a small number of Soldiers that spoke about the MOS. I personally knew many a cook that enjoyed their jobs.....they just didn't enjoy it when I came around to conduct inspections. Yea, the hours can suck....but then, there aren't too many MOSs that the hours don't suck. The job will be what you make it. Give it a shot. You never know, you may like it. And, if at the end of your contract and you still want to serve but not caring for the MOS, you can investigate the option to reclass to a new MOS.

Happy people are busy enjoying themselves, too busy to make youtube videos about how they enjoy their MOS. Whiners are busy looking for sympathetic people to hug them and rock them, agreeing that the whiner got screwed. Don't worry,... Be Happy.
