When the Army made it official that the UPC (digital pattern) uniform is no longer to be used, does that include the fleece jacket?

Back Story:
A higher ranking NCO and I were talking when we seen an E7 walking wearing the OCP uniform with the green fleece jacket. The NCO I was talking to said something to him about that jacket not being authorized, and the E7 responded by saying that it’s still a transitional period and he can still wear it. I’m a little lost on this.
Anybody have an answer to this.

It's not a transitional period, and the OCP guidelines are for your uniform, not TA-50 and other OCIE. You're authorized to wear whatever CIF issues you until it phases out. My CIF is still issuing UCP rucks, IOTV, goretex jackets and everything else, and they will be for years to come. Deploying units are highest on the totem pole for the newest issue and non deploying and TDA units are on the very bottom. Not that long ago I was issued a black sleeping bag from the woodland set. You get what you get, based on your priority, until the Army updates you.

Haven’t picked my TA-50 up yet as it just came in this month, but helping other soldiers with the unit I RST with and it’s been a mixed bag of OCP and UCP gear for all soldiers I’ve helped do OCIE inventory with.

SGT Dan Gray I imagine shortly after it was invented. It was standard issue when I joined in 1998

SGT Dan Gray we still got issued all those things when I first joined. Old field jacket, old cloth fart sack, no long John's but polypro underwear and crappy wool gloves and leather shells. When the Iraq War kicked off the Army spent a lot of money modernizing things like rucks, sleeping bags and cold weather gear, bringing it up to what was available on the civilian market.

if your issued it, you can wear it. until the Army fully transitions over, you can still use the equipment issued to you. Hell, I still use OD green and BDU coveralls. It would be a different story if he was issued the OCP gear and chose to use old equipment.

Oh ok. Good to know. Appreciate it Battle. I’m not sure what the NCOs situation is but I did see he was wearing the green fleece with ocp name tapes.

Ive been issued 3 sets of multicam gear. And subsequently have had to turn it in. Rocking that ucp jacket yet again.
