Can you request to go to a deploying unit or duty station for a re-enlistment option?

I kinda know the answer but maybe someone more versed can answer for me. I know you can’t get a deployment as a re-enlistment option but can you have the career counselor look and see if a unit that needs your MOS is deploying in the future and strategically ask to go there if a position is available? Or would you have to go through branch to find out? I’m not even sure branch knows which units are deploying is there anyway to find out?

No, you can't. The Army announces unit deployments and you could request one of those when you reenlist, but there is no guarantee your report date would be before the unit deploys. Your best bet is to go to one of the posts with units that frequently deploy.

If you go guard or reserves, you can apply to a bunch of deployment assignments on tour of duty as individual augmentee. Probably not what you want to do but just another COA for your kit box.

Honestly I would look into certain division Facebook pages, see if any brigade is deploying, then request that duty station hopefully in time before they leave. With the MOS part I'm not entirely sure with 94F's. If anything they would probably put you in that units BSB.
