My boyfriend was approved for leave during the holidays. We bought plane tickets for him to go home and all. I just received an email during his underway with no significant details saying he may not be able to take his leave. Is the allowed? Can they revoke his leave after it is already approved? New to the navy world so any help is appreciated.

To pile on to SFC (Join to see) and LTC (Join to see) , the overwhelming majority (like 99.5%) of Commanders understand what type of havoc the wreaks with Sailors and their families. They do not make the decision to cancel leave lightly and it SHOULD be a very rare occurrence. This is NOT something you should "just have to get used to." If it DOES become routine within a certain Command, there are larger issues at play.

Yes, leave is at the commander approval. Just make sure the revocation comes from the commander and not some in between first line leadership

Also his leave may not have been revoked. There may be a risk of leaves being canceled and the command is letting people know. As SFC Jason Boyd stated, leaves aren't revoked without a legitimate reason signed off by a commander.
